Introduction
The club's PC-ATD is an Elite PI-135 that is FAA-approved for use towards private pilot certificates and instrument ratings. It may also be used to meet the instrument currency requirements.
The PC-ATD is NOT a "Flight Simulator" as used in the Federal Aviation Regulations. See the Approval Document below for details.
The following model/serial number must be included in any logbook entry:
- Elite PC-ATD Model PI-135
- S/N 127

Benefits
- Private Pilot - may be used for up to 2.5 hours of the instrument requirement.
- Instrument Rating - may be used for up to 10 hours of the instrument requirement.
- Instrument Currency - may be used for all parts of the recent instrument experience requirement.
- Equipment failures are much more realistic than a "yellow sticky note".
- Free for use by any member.

Limitations
- While the device may be used "solo", an instructor must be present for the time to be logged and to count towards a certificate/rating/currency requirement. (See FAR §61.51(g)(4))
- The device may not be used for an Instrument Proficiency Check.
- The PC-ATD is only approved when it is in fully working condition.
